How Consumer Prices Changed in Ukraine in September 2025: Detailed Analysis

In September 2025, consumer prices in Ukraine showed a moderate increase of 0.3% compared to August. At the same time, annual inflation in September slowed to 11.9%, which is lower than the 13.2% recorded in August.

Price Dynamics for Food and Goods

By the end of the month, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages decreased by 0.8%. The most significant drop was observed in fruit prices, which fell by 11.8%, followed by vegetables at 10.6%. There were also reductions in prices for eggs, sugar, and rice ranging from 1.3% to 2.9%.

Meanwhile, certain categories of goods saw price increases: lard, sunflower oil, fish and fish products, dairy products, meat and meat products, processed grain products, non-alcoholic beverages, bread, and butter became more expensive by 0.7% to 4%.

Alcoholic beverages and tobacco products also increased in price by 1.2%, with tobacco products rising by 1.4% and alcohol by 1.0%.

Prices for Services and Clothing

In September, prices for clothing and footwear rose significantly by 8.2%, with clothing becoming 9.1% more expensive and footwear 7.3%. Education services increased by 12.4%, including higher education at 16.8% and secondary education at 8.5%.

When analyzing price dynamics over the year, the most significant increases were seen in egg prices, which rose by 50.9%, fruits by 30.4%, sunflower oil by 28.1%, and meat and meat products by 24.8%. At the same time, over the year, vegetables decreased in price by 16% and sugar by 8.1%.

“Clothing and footwear have again decreased in price compared to last year by 5.3%. Communication services increased by 17.1%, and healthcare by 11.1%.”

Alcohol and tobacco prices rose by 19% over the year. Education services increased in price by 14.4%, while restaurants and hotels rose by 14.8%.
