How Much Do Christmas Trees Cost in Ukraine in December 2025

The season for selling Christmas trees has begun in Ukraine, and the prices have remained almost unchanged compared to last year. Coniferous trees are offered at prices ranging from 210 to 250 hryvnias, while firs and spruces cost between 240 and 280 hryvnias.

Price Features of Christmas Trees in Different Regions

According to forestry reports, about 10,000 trees have already been sold, and a total of 140,000 coniferous plants have been prepared for sale. If demand increases, supply volumes may be expanded. The cost of Christmas trees is higher in the East and South of the country, as well as in million-plus cities such as Dnipro, Odesa, and Mykolaiv. The most affordable prices for Christmas trees are traditionally found in the forested areas of the North and Polissia — in Volyn, Rivne, Zhytomyr, and Chernihiv regions.

Container Trees and Legal Sales Regulations

Some forestry enterprises offer Christmas trees in containers, allowing them to be planted in the yard or garden after the holidays. The price for such trees starts at 500 hryvnias. Officially sold Christmas trees must have a tag with a barcode or a special label confirming their legal origin and safety.

In the capital, sales sites for Christmas trees opened their doors on December 3. Here, prices range from 350 to 3-4 thousand hryvnias depending on the size and type of tree. The list of locations for selling conifers in Kyiv includes 141 addresses.

The opening of the country’s main Christmas tree is scheduled for St. Nicholas Day, December 6. Traditionally, it is located in Sofiivska Square, and a small ice rink has been set up nearby.
