Dollar to Hryvnia Exchange Rate: New Forecast
According to the IMF’s forecast, the US dollar will reach 50 hryvnias only in 2029. This indicates a gradual trend in the change of the national currency’s exchange rate against the backdrop of the country’s economic stabilization.
Ukraine’s Economic Growth
The Fund has kept its forecast for Ukraine’s economic growth in 2025 unchanged at 2.0%. In 2026, GDP growth is expected to accelerate to 4.5%, and in 2027 to 4.8%. These figures correspond to the IMF’s baseline scenario, which assumes that hostilities from the Russian Federation will end by late 2025.
The dollar will cost 50 hryvnias only in 2029.
Thus, the updated IMF forecasts reflect cautious optimism regarding the recovery of the Ukrainian economy and the stabilization of the national currency in the medium term.
