Inflation in Ukraine Reached 15.9% in May 2025

According to the results of May 2025, the inflation rate in Ukraine increased to 15.9% year-on-year. Compared to previous months, the dynamics of inflation processes accelerated: in April, this figure was 15.1%, and in March — 14.6%. For the first five months of the year, inflation amounted to 5.6%.

Dynamics of Consumer Prices and Changes in Food Costs
In May, the growth rate of consumer prices reached 1.3% for the month. For comparison, in April this figure was 0.7%, and in March — 1.5%.
Among food products and non-alcoholic beverages, prices increased by 2.8%. The largest increase was recorded for fruits — they became 17.6% more expensive. The prices of meat, fish, bread, lard, vegetables, pasta, sugar, and non-alcoholic beverages also rose, with increases ranging from 0.7% to 8.3%.

At the same time, there was a decrease in prices for certain categories of goods. In particular, eggs became 8.7% cheaper, while the prices of butter, milk, and rice decreased by 0.5-0.8%.
Changes in Transport Prices and Other Goods
Alcoholic beverages and tobacco products increased in price by 1.4%. In contrast, clothing and footwear became 1.9% cheaper.
In the transport sector, there was a slight decrease in prices — by 0.1%. At the same time, fares for road passenger transport increased by 0.5%.
