Inflation in Ukraine Exceeded 15% in April 2025 – New Data from the State Statistics Service

In April 2025, the inflation rate in Ukraine’s consumer market reached 0.7%. For the year, the price increase accelerated on a year-on-year basis to 15.1%, surpassing the March figure when inflation was 14.6%. This is indicated by data released by the State Statistics Service.

Price Dynamics of Key Goods and Services
In April, prices for food products and non-alcoholic beverages rose by 1.8%. The sharpest increases were seen in pork and fruits, which rose by 7.9%. Meanwhile, eggs, rice, and butter decreased in price by between 2.5% and 0.2%.
Prices for alcoholic beverages and tobacco products increased by 1.3%, with tobacco products rising by 2.2%. Transportation services decreased by 0.3%, primarily due to a 2.2% drop in the cost of fuel and lubricants. However, the cost of using road and rail passenger transport increased by 0.9% and 0.8%, respectively.
Inflation Forecast for the Coming Years
“The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) forecasts that this year inflation will remain high at 13.2% for the year, and will decrease to 7.1% in 2026.”
