Price Dynamics of Sugar in Ukraine

As of June 19, the average cost of sugar in Ukrainian stores reached 34.02 hryvnias per kilogram. In comparison, this figure was 33.52 hryvnias per kilogram in May, indicating a price increase of 1.55%.

Retail chains offer varying prices for sugar. In particular, in the Novus chain, granulated sugar can be purchased at an average price of 32.99 hryvnias per kilogram. In ATB, this product is sold for 32.90 hryvnias per kilogram. In Silpo, thanks to a discount, the price starts at 31.49 hryvnias per kilogram.

Global Sugar Market Conditions

On the global market, according to industry portals, July futures for raw sugar decreased by 1.6% on June 18, reaching a mark of 0.1582 dollars per pound. This is the lowest level in over four years, since April 14, 2021.

It is noted that sugar has been actively declining since the peak in mid-March. This has been facilitated by forecasts of increased sugar supplies from India and Thailand, which are among the largest producers and exporters of the product in the world.

Thus, despite the trend of declining global prices, the sugar market in Ukraine is showing a moderate increase in value in June 2025.
