In the Khmelnytskyi region, law enforcement has shut down a clandestine printing operation that was producing counterfeit driver’s licenses, technical passports, and documents for driving schools. The illegal business was organized by a 37-year-old local resident who set up a mini-printing house in his own home.

Operation Scheme and Ordering Fake Documents

The perpetrator accepted orders via the Telegram messenger, offering clients a wide range of fake documents. Among them were counterfeit certificates in the name of the Ministry of Internal Affairs service centers, certificates of completion from driving schools, and other official papers. The organizer sent the finished products by mail across Ukraine, using fictitious names for shipments and regularly changing bank cards to receive payments in order to avoid detection.

Seizure of Evidence and Criminal Liability

During searches, operatives from the Department of Internal Security of the National Police, together with investigators from Khmelnytskyi, seized professional printing equipment, tools, forms, mobile phones with client correspondence, cash amounting to $75,000, and other physical evidence confirming the operation of the illegal printing house.

Based on the collected evidence, the man has been charged under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Specifically: part 1 of article 199 – production and sale of counterfeit money, securities, and holographic elements; part 1 and part 3 of article 358 – forgery and use of fake documents, seals, and stamps.

The suspect faces up to 7 years in prison. Currently, law enforcement is conducting a pre-trial investigation, with procedural guidance provided by the Khmelnytskyi regional prosecutor’s office.
