African Swine Fever Detected in Wild Boar in Bukovina
In the Lomachynets forestry, located in the Dnistrovskyi district of Chernivtsi region, a dead wild boar infected with the African swine fever (ASF) virus was found. This information was confirmed by the Sokyryany territorial community.

An epizootic focus has been declared in the enclosure for keeping wild boars, which is located in compartment 44, section No. 2. A site for the burning and burial of the carcass remains has also been designated, situated outside the enclosure.
Safety Measures in Lomachyntsi
The protection zone, covering an area within 3 km, includes the village of Lomachyntsi. Additionally, the surveillance zone, extending 10 km, includes Novodnistrovsk as well as the villages of Neporotove, Halytsia, Serbychany, Ozhieve, Vasylivka, Rozkopyntsi, Kobolchyn, Vitryanka, Mykhalkove, and Bilousivka in the Dnistrovskyi district.

Since the beginning of the year, several cases of African swine fever have already been recorded in the Dnistrovskyi district of Chernivtsi region, highlighting the need for serious measures to control the epidemic.
“African swine fever is a serious threat to pig farming, so timely measures are extremely important,” experts noted.
