Beef Production in Ukraine Increased by 25% in August 2025
In August 2025, a significant increase in the slaughter of cattle was recorded in Ukraine’s agricultural enterprises. According to preliminary statistics, beef producers raised their slaughter numbers to 9.25 thousand tons, which is 1.9 thousand tons or 25% more compared to July of this year. However, this figure is still 1.3 thousand tons, or 12%, lower than the same period last year.

Production Dynamics for the Year
From January to August 2025, 84.13 thousand tons of cattle were slaughtered in the country’s agricultural enterprises. This indicates an activation in beef production, although the growth rates remain unstable on an annual basis.
“From January to August 2025, the slaughter volumes of cattle in agricultural enterprises amounted to 84.13 thousand tons,” the association noted.
Leaders in Cattle Slaughter Volumes
The majority of beef produced comes from several regions of Ukraine. Specifically, 60% of the total cattle slaughter in agricultural enterprises was provided by the following regions:
- Kyiv Region — 12.45 thousand tons;
- Poltava Region — 10.92 thousand tons;
- Cherkasy Region — 9.22 thousand tons;
- Vinnytsia Region — 7.83 thousand tons;
- Chernihiv Region — 7.62 thousand tons.
Thus, the central regions of Ukraine make the largest contribution to beef production.
