Main Changes in Control and Requirements for Specialists

According to the new regulations, every veterinarian working with livestock enterprises must undergo a mandatory licensing procedure. In addition to relevant education, specialists must confirm their qualifications with appropriate documents and regularly undergo further training. There is also increased control over compliance with safety standards in animal handling and documentation management.

“The State Consumer Service is implementing a new model of interaction between agricultural enterprises and veterinarians. From now on, specialists servicing livestock complexes must meet the updated licensing requirements.”

Expected Effects of the Reform

The introduction of new requirements is expected to enhance the quality of veterinary services in the agricultural sector, reduce the risks of disease spread among animals, and ensure food safety. The updated control model will also strengthen the responsibility of enterprises for adhering to veterinary and sanitary standards.

The reform of veterinary control aims to harmonize Ukrainian legislation with European standards and create a transparent oversight system for the activities of veterinary specialists at all levels of enterprises.
