Cheese Production in Ukraine to Decrease Due to Rising Imports from Europe
In September, Ukrainian cheese producers managed to maintain sales volumes despite rising prices in the domestic market. However, a significant increase in cheese imports from European countries, where prices are rapidly declining, is expected in October.

Price Reductions in Europe Stimulate Imports
European cheeses are becoming increasingly attractive to Ukrainian retail chains and small importers. Due to a substantial drop in prices, these products can be profitably imported, packaged, and sold in the domestic market. Against the backdrop of cheaper imported products, it is becoming more difficult for Ukrainian cheese producers to compete, as domestic cheese remains more expensive. Distributors are increasingly favoring imported options due to their economic viability.
Cheese Production Decreases, Demand for Cheese Products Increases
Analysts predict that with the onset of autumn, cheese imports from Europe will continue to rise, while the volumes of Ukrainian cheese production will gradually decline. At the same time, there is an increase in demand for cheese products and processed cheeses, both among Ukrainian consumers and in export markets. This allows producers in these segments to remain active and increase their volumes.
This makes European products attractive to both retail chains and small players who can import cheeses, package them, and sell them at a profit.
