Reasons and Trends in the Milk Market

AVM analyst Georgiy Kukhaleyshvili notes that the trend of declining purchase prices persists. According to him, the situation is influenced by the accumulation of finished product stocks in warehouses, as well as an increase in the import of cheaper dairy products into Ukraine. These factors create additional pressure on the cost of raw milk.

Moreover, during the New Year holidays, there is typically a lull in the market after December 25. During this time, the volumes of exported commodities decrease, and domestic sales of dairy products decline. At the same time, the profitability of butter and dry milk production significantly decreases.

“It is likely that low prices for raw milk may persist throughout the first quarter of 2026,” predicts the analyst.
