From January to October 2025, Ukrainian exports of live sheep and goats showed a significant decline: during this period, 841 tons of this livestock were shipped, which is 29.9% less compared to the same period in 2024.

Main Export Markets and Revenue Trends

For the first ten months of 2025, revenue from the export of live sheep and goats amounted to $978 thousand. In monetary terms, this represents a decrease of 30.1% compared to the same period last year.

Products from Ukrainian livestock were supplied to only two countries. The largest buyer remained Lebanon, accounting for 92.7% of the exports, while Libya accounted for 7.3%.

Decrease in Sheep and Goat Population in September

In September 2025, a decrease of 3.9% in the total number of sheep and goats was recorded in Ukraine. This may indicate overall trends in the industry that affect both the domestic market and export potential.
