The poultry industry is actively developing in the Lviv region: there are 77 agricultural enterprises operating here, of which 72 specialize in broiler production and 5 in egg production.

Investments in Infrastructure and Production Growth

According to Lyudmyla Honcharenko, the director of the agricultural development department of the Lviv regional state administration, the region is demonstrating high growth rates in the poultry sector. Lviv region ranks fourth among the regions of Ukraine in terms of gross poultry production and fifth in the rate of increase in the population of all types of poultry.

From 2023 to 2025, two modern poultry complexes were built and put into operation in the region, designed to accommodate 300,000 broilers simultaneously. The total investment in these projects exceeded 180 million hryvnias.

Expansion Plans and Export Prospects

In the near future, the construction of four more poultry complexes is planned in Lviv region. They will allow for the annual maintenance of 8.2 million broilers and 2.3 million laying hens.

“In the future, the construction of four poultry complexes is planned, with an annual capacity of 8.2 million broilers and 2.3 million laying hens,” she emphasized.

As of the beginning of August, over 7.3 million birds were kept in the industrial sector of the region, which is 19.6% more compared to the same period in 2024. In the first seven months of 2025, poultry farmers in Lviv region produced 55.8 thousand tons of poultry meat.

Local producers are actively focusing on exports. The main markets remain Poland, Germany, and the Czech Republic, and recently the market of Oman has also been opened, providing new opportunities for the poultry industry in the region.
