Import of lard, pork fat, and poultry fat to Ukraine increased by nearly 30% in 2025
From January to October 2025, Ukraine significantly increased its imports of lard, pork fat, and poultry fat from abroad. According to official data, the volume of imported products rose by 28.9% compared to the same period last year, totaling 15,672 tons with a total value of $18.085 million.

Main suppliers of lard to Ukraine in 2025
The main supplying countries were Poland, Germany, and Spain. Poland remains the undisputed leader, accounting for over two-thirds of the imports, specifically 66.86% of the total volume, which in monetary terms amounts to $12.091 million. Germany came in second, supplying 12.92% of the products worth $2.337 million. Spain took third place with a share of 9.79% and a supply volume of $1.886 million.

Dynamics of lard imports and the fat market
The increase in imports reflects the rising demand for this type of product in Ukraine and trends in the changing structure of consumption of animal fats. At the same time, experts note that this trend may be related to internal production difficulties and an increase in the consumption of products made from lard and poultry fat.
It is noted that the volume of imported products increased by 28.9% — to 15,672 tons worth $18.085 million.
