Prices for Dairy Products Decrease in Ukraine Due to Weak Demand and Increased Imports
In the Ukrainian dairy market, there has been a decrease in prices for certain categories of products in September 2025. The main factors contributing to this price trend are weak domestic demand, an increase in cheese imports, and a halt in dairy product exports to European Union countries.

Price Dynamics for Dairy Products
In August, a decrease in the average price of milk, kefir, sour cream, yogurts, and some types of cheese was recorded. At the same time, price changes depended on the packaging format and fat content of each product.
The price of Gouda cheese produced in Ukraine with a fat content of 45% decreased the most, dropping by 9%. The average price of this cheese currently stands at 563.38 UAH per kilogram, which is 54.53 UAH less than the previous month. However, compared to September last year, the product has increased in price by 25% (+114.33 UAH).
“Among the reasons are low demand, increased cheese imports, and the suspension of dairy product exports to European Union countries.”
Mozzarella cheese with a fat content of 45% also became cheaper, although not as significantly – by 11.88 UAH, or 2%. Its average price is now 590.86 UAH per kilogram. Over the year, this type of cheese has risen in price by 32% (+142.48 UAH).
Prices for Milk, Sour Cream, and Yogurt
Pasteurized milk in film packaging with a fat content of up to 2.6% decreased by 5%. Its average price is 45.46 UAH per kilogram, which is 2.59 UAH less than in August. At the same time, this is 20% more expensive than last year.
Pasteurized milk in plastic bottles, on the other hand, has slightly increased in price – by 22 kopecks per kilogram.
Sour cream with a fat content of 15% in cups decreased in September by 2.9%. Its average price is now 186.28 UAH per kilogram, which is 5.54 UAH less than the August price. However, in annual terms, the price increase is 29% (+42.08 UAH). Sour cream of the same fat content in film packaging, conversely, increased in price by 1.25 UAH over the month.
Yogurt in cups with a fat content of 1.6% to 2.8% decreased by 2% over the month, costing an average of 158.06 UAH per kilogram, which is 2.62 UAH less than in August. Over the year, its price has increased by 18% (+24.64 UAH).
