According to information provided by the Eastern Interregional Main Department of the State Food and Consumer Service, the ban applies to the import of animals that may be susceptible to the foot-and-mouth disease virus, as well as genetic material, raw materials, and products derived from them. Official data is corroborated by information from the European Union through the Animal Disease Notification System (ADIS) and the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH).

“The importation into Ukraine from the Slovak Republic of animals susceptible to the foot-and-mouth disease virus, genetic material, raw materials, and products from them is prohibited,” the statement reads.
