Ukraine Significantly Increased Cattle Exports in February 2026

In February 2026, Ukrainian exports of cattle (bovine animals) significantly increased, reaching approximately 1,770 tons in live weight. This figure is 85% higher than the volumes in January of the current year and 36% more than in February 2025.
“According to analysts, the revenue from exported animals amounted to $12.02 million, which is 39% higher compared to January 2026 and 57% higher compared to February 2025.”
Dynamics of Beef Exports
Ukrainian exporters shipped 230.8 tons of fresh or chilled beef to foreign markets in February 2026, which is 21% less than in January of this year. The revenue from the export of this product totaled $1.69 million, which is 24% less compared to the previous month. For January-February 2026, fresh beef exports reached 523.8 tons worth $3.91 million.
The volumes of frozen beef exports in February 2026 increased to 1,270 tons, which is 32% more compared to January, although this is 4% less than in February 2025. The revenue from this type of export reached nearly $5.8 million, which is 26% more than in the previous month and 20% higher than last year’s figure for the same period. For January-February 2026, frozen beef exports amounted to 2,240 tons (-18%) worth $10.42 million (+3%).
Imports and Trade Balance
In February 2026, Ukraine did not import cattle. The import of chilled beef increased to 13.7 tons (+128% compared to January), while the import of frozen beef decreased to 69.5 tons (-14%). Compared to February 2025, the import of chilled beef increased by 3%, while frozen beef imports decreased by 21%.
The trade balance remained positive in February, amounting to $11.21 million, indicating a significant surplus of exports over imports in the cattle and beef sector.
