What Conditions Must Be Met to Receive the Supplement
The state has established clear criteria for receiving the monthly supplement. A citizen must:
- be at least 80 years old;
- live independently, without relatives or guardians;
- require constant external care, as confirmed by a medical certificate;
- receive a pension solely based on age, not due to disability or other reasons.
It is important to note that individuals with disabilities or those already receiving additional social benefits are not eligible for this supplement.
In Ukraine, single pensioners over 80 years old who require care and live alone are entitled to a monthly pension supplement of 944 UAH.
Application Process and Amount of Payment
To apply for the assistance, one must contact the social protection authorities or the Pension Fund of Ukraine. The list of required documents includes:
- an application for the supplement;
- a conclusion from the medical advisory commission (MAC) confirming the need for external care;
- a passport;
- an identification code.
The payment amounts to 40% of the minimum subsistence level for non-working individuals. As of June 2025, the minimum subsistence level for this category remains at 2361 UAH, thus the amount of the supplement is 944 UAH. In 2025, the amount of this assistance has not changed due to the lack of a review of the minimum subsistence level.
The Ukrainian society is aging rapidly, and support for lonely elderly people is extremely important. For many such pensioners, even a small supplement plays a significant role in meeting basic needs.
