National Bank of Ukraine Lowers Official Dollar Rate and Raises Euro

The National Bank of Ukraine has published updated exchange rates, according to which the official value of the dollar against the hryvnia has decreased for the second consecutive time. This is confirmed by data released on the regulator’s website, indicating further strengthening of the national currency against the American one.

Exchange Rate Dynamics as of May 22

As of May 22, the official exchange rate of the US dollar is set at 41.436 hryvnias per 1 dollar, which is 4.91 kopecks lower compared to the previous day. At the same time, the official euro rate has increased by 26.17 kopecks, amounting to 46.9138 hryvnias per 1 euro.

Situation in the Interbank and Cash Markets

In the interbank currency market, the dollar rate has decreased by 5 kopecks today and fluctuates between 41.41-41.45 hryvnias per one dollar (buy-sell), showing a decline compared to the closing figures of the previous session.

There is also a slight decrease in the cash market, with the dollar value dropping by 5 kopecks to 41.65 hryvnias.

Experts note that further changes in exchange rates may depend on macroeconomic factors and the situation in external markets.
