NBU Issues Commemorative Silver Coin Dedicated to Ivan Marchuk and Plontanism

The National Bank of Ukraine has announced the release of a new commemorative coin titled “Plontanism (Ivan Marchuk)”, which will be available for sale starting May 27. This coin is issued in honor of the unique artistic technique of the outstanding Ukrainian artist, known worldwide as the creator of his own artistic style, plontanism.

Main Characteristics and Features of the Coin
The coin has a nominal value of 10 hryvnias and is made of 925 silver. Its weight is 31.1 grams. The total mintage is 7,500 pieces, each of which is placed in a special case. The edge of the coin is smooth with inscriptions that emphasize its exclusivity. The year of minting is 2024.
The price of one commemorative coin is 5,876 hryvnias. Each buyer can purchase no more than one coin, as a special limit has been set for this purpose.

The NBU noted that the coin honors the creative legacy of Ivan Marchuk — an artist who created his own artistic technique of plontanism. This work has become a symbol of the depth and richness of Ukrainian culture, woven into the delicate lines of his canvases.
