The Ternopil company “Weststar Group” intends to implement a large-scale infrastructure project in Volyn by constructing a modern “dry port”. The planned complex will be located near the railway on land totaling approximately 35.6 hectares. To ensure the effective operation of the terminal, the construction of access railway tracks is also planned.

Capacity and Location of the Future Port

According to the project documentation, the built-up area will cover 142,148 square meters, which is over 14 hectares. The terminal’s capacity will reach 10,000 twenty-foot containers per year, significantly enhancing the logistics potential of this region and promoting the development of cross-border freight transportation with Europe.

Infrastructure Significance and Competition

The planned “dry port” will be located approximately 25 kilometers from the international checkpoint “Yahodyn” on the Ukrainian-Polish border. At the same time, it will be only 10 kilometers from another terminal, the construction of which was initiated last year by the company “Interkoleso”. However, the implementation of this project is currently suspended: the Antimonopoly Committee found that “Interkoleso” received the land for construction in violation of legislative norms.

“Weststar Group” is part of the Ternopil group of companies “Western Container Terminal”, which provides logistics services.
