Poland Allocates Over 57.6 Million Euros for Border Modernization with Ukraine
The Polish government has approved expanded investments totaling over 57.6 million euros for the development of road and rail infrastructure at the Polish-Ukrainian border. These funds are aimed at enhancing the efficiency of transport routes and improving border crossing conditions.

Main Funding Directions
The majority of the allocated funds — 52.5 million euros — comes from the Interreg NEXT Poland-Ukraine 2021-2027 program. These investments are intended for the implementation of large-scale road and rail projects. Additionally, another 5.1 million euros will be directed towards small initiatives in the field of circular economy, which are also expected to contribute to the sustainable development of border areas.
Modernization of Roads and Railways
Among the new projects that have been approved, four pertain to road infrastructure. A total of 41.85 million euros has been allocated for their implementation, allowing for the modernization of provincial roads in the Polish regions around Augustów, Tomaszów Lubelski, Sokółka Podlaska, and Krosno.
Furthermore, a separate railway project costing 10.72 million euros involves the upgrading of tracks on line 101 and the renovation of the Verkhnyata station from the Polish side. Simultaneously, the Ukrainian side will carry out the modernization of the railway station in Lviv, which is expected to significantly increase passenger capacity and comfort for travelers.
