Reliable Solution Against Ear Fusarium and Other Diseases

Rainy weather during the flowering period of cereals, the saturation of crop rotation with cereals, the specifics of cultivation technology and soil treatment – all these factors, both collectively and individually, can influence the intensity of ear fusarium development in the current agricultural season. What solution to choose for protecting the ear and reducing disease development is explained by the specialists of Ukravit.

“The hydrothermal conditions have been and remain favorable for the development and spread of diseases in cereal crops,” notes Oleksandr Myhlovets, head of the agronomy department at Ukravit. “Today, crops are affected to varying degrees, depending on the region, by powdery mildew, septoria, helminthosporiosis, various types of spotting, brown leaf rust, root rot, and so on. Crops that are in the phase of intensive flowering are at risk of being infected by the fusarium pathogens of the ear. This pathogen poses a significant threat to future yields, as it increasingly causes substantial losses and deterioration in quality year after year. Therefore, during the period from the beginning to the middle of flowering of cereal crops, it is necessary to carry out spraying with appropriate active substances to protect the plants from risks.”
For preventive treatment and moderate fusarium pressure and other diseases, Oleksandr recommends opting for the fungicide Unikal Max (tebuconazole, 500 g/l). The active substance is quickly absorbed by the plants through the vegetative organs and, moving acropetally, is evenly distributed in the central part of the stem. Its action manifests in the suppression of ergosterol synthesis in the cell membranes of pathogenic fungi, leading to their death.
Applied during the beginning to mid-flowering period, Unikal Max effectively controls ear fusarium, has preventive and curative effects against powdery mildew, rust, and septoria. At the same time, the fungicide is characterized by a prolonged protective action period, making its use an effective solution for reliable protection of cereal crops.
