Russian Drone Attacks Caused Power Outages in Seven Regions of Ukraine
On the night of October 15, Russia launched another drone attack on Ukrainian energy facilities, resulting in temporary power outages for consumers in seven regions of the country. According to the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, the strikes led to a complicated situation in the energy system, causing emergency power cuts for both the population and businesses.

Which Regions Were Affected by the Outages
Power supply issues arose in Sumy, Kharkiv, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, as well as partially in Kirovohrad and Cherkasy regions. Emergency shutdowns were implemented for various categories of consumers in these areas. Additionally, in the Zaporizhzhia region, part of the industrial enterprises was emergency shut down.
Current State of the Energy System and Recovery
As of now, emergency power outages have been lifted in all the mentioned regions. However, in the Chernihiv region, electricity supply schedules remain in effect, and three shifts of hourly outages are in place. This is due to prolonged systematic shelling from Russia, which continues to damage the energy infrastructure of the region.
“This is the result of systematic attacks by the enemy on the energy infrastructure of the region over the past few weeks. Emergency recovery work is ongoing,” the statement emphasizes.
The Ministry of Energy stresses that emergency recovery work is not ceasing, and energy workers continue to do everything possible to restore stable electricity supply in the affected regions.
