Serbia has extended the import of Russian gas until the end of March 2025
The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, has reached an agreement to extend gas supplies from the Russian Federation for another three months, until March 31, 2025. According to the Serbian leader, this decision will contribute to the stable energy supply of the country during the winter period.

Contract Terms and Future Prospects
Previously, the Serbian government announced that the current contract for the import of Russian gas has already been extended until the end of 2025, and Belgrade intends to sign a long-term agreement for the future. Gas supplies to Serbia are carried out via the “TurkStream” pipeline.

Discussion of Agreements Involving Foreign Companies
In addition to gas issues, President Vučić mentioned that “Gazprom” is currently negotiating with the Hungarian energy company MOL regarding the sale of a stake in the Serbian oil and gas company Naftna Industrija Srbije (NIS), which is under U.S. sanctions. The Serbian government has no objections to this deal and is interested in its swift completion.
Vučić emphasized that it is important for Serbia to finalize discussions with the Hungarian side by January 15, highlighting the strategic significance of cooperation with “friend Hungarians” for national energy security.
