Ingredients for Spicy Salad

To prepare this salad, you will need:

  • salted herring fillet – 150 g;
  • potato – 1 large or 2 medium;
  • red onion – 0.5 pcs;
  • onion marinade (vinegar – 0.5 tbsp, salt – 2 pinches, sugar – 0.5 tsp);
  • canned peas – 150 g;
  • sunflower oil – 3 tbsp;
  • herbs to taste;
  • salt and pepper to taste.

Preparation Method

To prepare the salad, first boil the potatoes until tender (about 20-30 minutes), cool, and cut into cubes. Slice the onion into half-rings, pour boiling water over it for a minute to reduce bitterness, and then leave it in the marinade for 20 minutes.

After that, remove the skin and bones from the herring and chop it finely. Drain the water from the canned peas and chop the herbs.

Mix all the ingredients, season with salt and pepper to taste. Dress the finished salad with unrefined oil or light mayonnaise to enhance the flavor.
