Government plans for large and small privatization
According to the announced plans, the government expects to receive about 10 billion hryvnias from large privatization and another 3 billion from small privatization. Yulia Svyrydenko noted that this is quite an ambitious goal, considering the state of war in the country. All details of the strategy were discussed and agreed upon at a meeting with the Ministry of Economy and the State Property Fund.
“This is an ambitious task in wartime conditions, but it was discussed and agreed upon at a meeting with the Ministry of Economy and the State Property Fund.”
Privatization of Ocean Plaza and use of funds
One of the key assets being prepared for sale is the Ocean Plaza shopping center. According to the Prime Minister, this facility previously belonged to a Russian oligarch but was transferred to the state under the law on sanctions. The value of the shopping center is estimated at approximately 100 million dollars. It is planned to be put up for open auction in the third quarter of 2026.
Since the beginning of the year, the government has already attracted over one billion hryvnias from small privatization and continues the sale of prepared assets. The funds obtained from the sale, including from sanctioned property, go to the recovery fund. They are directed towards rebuilding the country and supporting citizens affected by the war.
It is worth noting that at the beginning of 2026, the government simplified the procedure for selling sanctioned property of Russian citizens that was confiscated for the benefit of the state. The realization of such assets is conducted through open auctions.
