Train Delays in Ukraine Due to Russian Shelling: List of Affected Routes and Reasons

Significant delays are being observed for long-distance trains in Ukraine due to damage to railway infrastructure caused by shelling from the Russian Federation. The problems arose as a result of attacks that occurred on November 8, particularly in the Poltava region. The delay times for certain routes range from 2.5 to 6.5 hours.

Infrastructure Damage and Impact on Train Operations

Due to the shelling in the Poltava region, the contact network has been damaged in several areas, and some stations are without power. As a result, train operations on these routes are being conducted exclusively with diesel locomotives, leading to significant delays for both long-distance and suburban trains. Suburban trains in Poltava and Kharkiv regions are experiencing possible delays of 1.5 to 2 hours.

“As a result of enemy strikes in the Poltava region, there is damage, several stations are without power, and the contact network has been damaged in several areas,” the statement reads.

List of Delayed Trains and Alternative Routes for Passengers

As of 8 AM, delays are recorded on the following routes:

• №720 Kyiv – Kharkiv: delay +6 hours 30 minutes;
• №22/21 Kharkiv – Lviv: delay +2 hours 30 minutes;
• №111/112 Lviv – Izium: delay +5 hours;
• №63/64 Lviv – Kharkiv: delay +5 hours;
• №103/104 Husarivka – Lviv: delay +4 hours;
• №17/18 Uzhhorod – Kharkiv: delay +3 hours 40 minutes;
• №227/228 Husarivka – Ivano-Frankivsk: delay +3 hours 30 minutes.

For passengers of train №725 Kharkiv – Kyiv Intercity+, boarding has been organized on an electric train in Poltava, and passengers of train №720 Kyiv – Kharkiv Intercity+ will also travel to Kharkiv by electric train from Poltava. Representatives of the railway company emphasize that they are taking all necessary measures to minimize delays and ensure passenger safety.
