Trends in the Ukrainian Labor Market Amid War: March 2025

As of March 2025, the Ukrainian labor market continues to show activity despite the challenges posed by the war. During this month, 98,992 job vacancies were posted on the Work.ua job portal, which is nearly consistent with the figures from February. The largest increase in vacancies is observed in the Volyn region (+7%), Vinnytsia (+6%), Chernivtsi (+5%), as well as in the Kirovohrad and Transcarpathian regions (both +3%). At the same time, in the regions with the highest number of vacancies, the number of job offers has decreased.

Among the most popular professions, the position of a serviceman has appeared for the first time, highlighting the ongoing need in this area. In March, there was a slight increase in the number of responses from job seekers – 3% more than in February. The activity rate of candidates remains high, although competition in the market has somewhat decreased due to a slight increase in vacancies.
Demand for Remote Work and Competition in the Offline Sector
There is a traditionally high interest among candidates in remote vacancies. Regarding offline work, the highest competition is recorded in the Vinnytsia, Lviv, and Kyiv regions, where the demand for workers remains consistently high.
Increase in Average Salary
In March, the average salary in Ukraine rose to ₴24,000 ($583), which is ₴500 more than in February. The highest salaries are offered for vacancies in the Defense Forces, the IT sector, and in managerial positions, indicating a continued interest in these professions.
