According to a study by the consulting company KPMG, which surveyed the opinions of 92 top managers from leading companies, the key challenges for Ukrainian businesses remain geopolitical instability, war, and a shortage of qualified personnel. Despite this, one in five leaders plans to increase the number of employees in their company by 11–25%.

Optimism in Business and Economic Development

Only 34% of respondents expect overall growth in the national economy. At the same time, 49% of leaders believe in the prospects for the development of their own business. Technological integration, particularly the use of artificial intelligence, occurs mainly for pragmatic reasons: more than half of the companies (52%) use AI to automate routine operations, but only 3% see this tool as a source of competitive advantage or increased profitability.

Recovery and Investment Strategies

Almost half of the surveyed top managers plan to implement innovative products and services aimed at the country’s recovery. The same number of leaders are focused on attracting foreign investments. Among the main conditions for investment, 82% of respondents highlighted the need for a transparent legal system, guarantees for the safety of investments, and insurance against war risks.

“Overall, the study demonstrates that Ukrainian businesses are adapting to prolonged uncertainty: strategic decisions are formed under the pressure of risks, technologies are used cautiously, and the pace of scaling remains restrained.”

Thus, Ukrainian businesses, despite challenging circumstances, continue to seek new opportunities for growth, invest in staff development, and implement modern technological solutions while maintaining caution in strategic matters.
