Ukraine has significant potential to become a key player in the battery technology market in Europe due to its own reserves of critical materials, particularly lithium. This conclusion was drawn by Krzysztof Burda, the CEO of the Polish Chamber for the Development of Electric Mobility.

According to the expert, an important step for Ukraine is to focus on the extraction and utilization of available raw materials, which are the foundation for the production of modern batteries. Materials such as lithium are of strategic importance, as they are actively sought after by leading countries around the world for the development of energy storage technologies.

“Ukraine should pay attention to the raw materials it possesses, as most of these materials are critical (both lithium and others) for battery production. This is what the whole world is currently vying for, and the direction related to the production of energy storage systems represents a certain opportunity associated with the future reconstruction of Ukraine,” the expert noted.

Prospects for Cooperation and Technological Integration

In addition to producing batteries for electric vehicles, Ukraine can also develop its role in other technological areas, particularly in the production of batteries for drones. Krzysztof Burda emphasized that Ukraine’s experience in the drone industry will be a valuable contribution to the European community.

He also noted that Poland has already accumulated significant experience in forming supply chains for batteries, so a partnership with Ukraine in the field of batteries and electric mobility could be of strategic importance for the entire European market. Such cooperation promises to be mutually beneficial for both countries and stimulate further development of innovative technologies in the region.
