Ukravit and FAO to Assist Farmers in Affected Regions
The company Ukravit, with the support of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), will provide farmers in the Kharkiv and Mykolaiv regions with the opportunity to test their soils for free. The program is being implemented with financial support from the Austrian government as part of an initiative to assist farms affected by hostilities.
This is reported by AgroReview
“The condition of soils, especially in farms that have suffered due to hostilities, is a global issue that needs to be addressed here and now, – believes the head of the service and technology department at Ukravit, Serhiy Salnikov. –Therefore, the FAO initiative is an important step that, on one hand, will help draw public attention to this issue, and on the other hand, increase farmers’ awareness of their own resources and tackle the existing challenges.”
Farmers’ enterprises that received a special voucher from FAO in 2024 – 2025 can benefit from the Program. Conditions for use:
- The farm must be registered in the State Agricultural Register.
- The farm must officially engage in agricultural activities.
- The farm must have land plots in the Mykolaiv and Kharkiv regions, ranging from 3 to 300 hectares.
One voucher allows for the free testing of one soil sample. To order the analysis, a soil sample must be collected, properly labeled, and sent to the Ukravit Institute. At the same time, an application must be filled out on the website: https://cropcare.institute/fao.
For the client’s convenience, analysis is available within the packages “Complex for Grain and Oilseed Crops” and “Complex for Leguminous Crops.” The service will be provided within a month from the moment the voucher is received.
The results obtained will help the FAO and the farm itself assess soil fertility and determine how to achieve maximum productivity and profitability.
