Ukrzaliznytsia Restores the Functionality for Issuing Discount Tickets

After a large-scale cyberattack, Ukrzaliznytsia (UZ) has restored the ability to issue discount tickets for students. This became possible after the functionality for individuals with disabilities was previously made available, and the online station board has also been reinstated. The company is also actively working on restoring verification through Diia.Signature, automatic ticket purchasing, and the loyalty program “Iron Friends.”

“We have good news for our student passengers. Discount tickets are now available to them in the app. We continue to restore the functionality of online ticket sales,” the UZ press service reported.

An important aspect of the restored functionalities is the ability to issue discount tickets for individuals with disabilities, which significantly simplifies travel for these passengers. Tickets can now be purchased directly in the app, without the need to visit ticket offices.

Additionally, passengers can once again use the online station board, allowing them to track train arrivals and departures in real-time at all key railway stations in Ukraine. This is especially relevant for those planning trips or meeting arriving passengers.

The company is also actively working on the return of other important features. The following innovations are expected to be implemented soon:

• verification through Diia.Signature, which will simplify the ticket purchasing process and access to discounts;
• monitoring with automatic purchasing, which will allow tickets to be automatically purchased when they become available;
• the revival of the “Iron Friends” program, which will include the return of the loyalty program and all related benefits.

“Hugs” in the app, symbolizing support and unity among passengers, are particularly popular. According to company representatives, this feature will also be restored. After stabilizing the system’s operation, specialists are manually working on restoring each user’s account.

“Iron friendship cannot be broken! The enemy targeted them because they understood their superpower and significance for each of us. But we will not leave anyone without hugs!” UZ stated. The loyalty program “Iron Friends” and all related functions will be relaunched very soon.
