Lawmakers Demand Explanations for Price Surge

The initiative for this request was put forward by Member of Parliament Oleksiy Honcharenko, who emphasized the need to obtain comprehensive explanations from the head of the Antimonopoly Committee regarding the reasons for the substantial rise in fuel prices in Ukraine. In particular, he pointed out that

“why has the price of fuel in Ukraine increased significantly more than in European countries, and why did it rise in just one day.”

This initiative was supported by 156 members of parliament, ensuring a sufficient number of votes for the decision to be adopted.

Meeting in the Cabinet and Fuel Price Dynamics

As of March 9, the average price of A-95 gasoline has increased by 65 kopecks, reaching 69.02 UAH per liter. Diesel fuel has risen even more significantly—by 2 hryvnias and 50 kopecks, reaching 71.6 UAH per liter.

A meeting has already taken place in the Cabinet of Ministers with key participants in the oil products market. The meeting discussed ways to coordinate further actions to ensure a stable and uninterrupted supply of fuel at Ukrainian gas stations.
