Weather for the Weekend: Nighttime Frosts Down to -3°C and Dry Cloudy Days in Ukraine

The first weekend of December will bring a true winter atmosphere to Ukraine, with a noticeable drop in nighttime temperatures, no precipitation, and predominantly cloudy weather in most regions. Nighttime frosts are expected to reach -3°C, while daytime temperatures will hover around zero.

Weather on Saturday: Dry, Frosty, and Cloudy with Clearings

On Saturday, the air will finally take on a winter character. Nighttime temperatures will drop to below zero, while during the day, thermometers in most regions will register values close to zero. No precipitation is forecasted; the sky will be cloudy with periodic clearings, creating a typical December atmosphere. The wind will be light, and atmospheric pressure will remain stable.

• East (Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk): During the day, temperatures will range from +2 to +6°C, and at night, they will drop to -3°C. There will be no rain, and the sky will change from cloudy to almost clear. In the evening and at night, the formation of ice on the roads is possible.
• Center (Kyiv, Dnipro, Cherkasy, Poltava, Vinnytsia): Daytime temperatures will reach +1 to +5°C, and at night, they will drop to -2°C. The thermometer will hover around the zero mark, feeling colder due to humidity and wind. No precipitation is expected.
• West (Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, Uzhhorod): During the day, temperatures will be +3 to +6°C, and at night, down to -1°C. The weather will be relatively warm for early winter, with clouds alternating with clearings, and no precipitation is forecasted.
• South (Odesa, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Crimea): The warmest region in the country – daytime temperatures will be +7 to +9°C, and at night, frosts down to -1°C. The weather will remain dry, with a cloudy sky and periodic clearings.

Weather on Sunday: Overcast and Nighttime Frosts

On Sunday, cloudy weather will settle across the country: the sky will be covered with a thick layer of clouds that will hardly let any sunlight through. In the central regions, it will warm up during the day, but nighttime temperatures are expected to drop below zero again. Overall, a trend of nighttime frosts will persist across Ukraine, except for the southern regions, where nighttime temperatures will remain above zero.

• East: Daytime temperatures will be +3 to +6°C, and at night, down to -2°C. The sky will be heavy and gray, with no rain.
• Center: During the day, temperatures will be +5 to +7°C, and at night, -2°C. It will be overcast, with no precipitation, providing comfortable weather for December.
• West: Daytime temperatures will be +4 to +6°C, and at night, down to -3°C. Most cities will see no precipitation, with only a slight chance of rain in Yavoriv.
• South: The notable feature will be the above-zero nighttime temperatures – during the day, +5 to +7°C, and at night, up to +4°C. In Crimea, a slight chance of rain is possible in some areas, while the rest of the regions will remain dry.

Meteorologists advise dressing warmly due to increased humidity and wind, which enhance the feeling of cold. Drivers are recommended to be cautious, as ice on the roads may occur in the morning and evening.
