In Which Cases Pensioners Are Entitled to a Pension Recalculation: Main Grounds
Photo: from open sources
Pensioners in Ukraine have the right to apply to the Pension Fund for a recalculation of their pension if there are specific grounds established by law. The most common cases include the following:
This is reported by AgroReview
- Increase in salary after the initial pension appointment. In this situation, the pensioner can initiate a recalculation every two years.
- Growth in insurance experience. If a citizen continues to work after retiring and gains additional experience, their pension amount is reviewed immediately.
- Increase in the minimum subsistence level. For pensioners who are not working, the recalculation is done automatically. For employed pensioners, this recalculation occurs after they cease their employment.
- Updating information regarding income or work experience. If a pensioner provides new documents, as well as in cases of additional allowances (for example, for honorary titles or for military personnel), or when applying for a pension due to the loss of a breadwinner, a recalculation of payments is also possible.
Planned Pension Indexation
In Ukraine, the next pension indexation is scheduled for March 1, 2026. To ensure pension payments, the state budget allocates 1 trillion 27 billion hryvnias. This will allow for timely payments and compensate for part of the inflation impact on pensioners.
The increase in the minimum subsistence level — for non-working pensioners, the recalculation occurs automatically, for working pensioners — after they finish their work.
