“Retail prices are showing similar upward trends as wholesale prices. For instance, potatoes are being sold at 13 UAH per kilogram in the market, while before the New Year, they cost 10 UAH. Overall, borscht vegetables have decreased in price by at least 50% over the past year, so they are now regaining their positions.”
Denis Marchuk, Deputy Head of the All-Ukrainian Agrarian Council, notes that further price increases for bread, cereals, and vegetables are expected in Ukraine in the near future. According to his forecast, the rise in vegetable prices will continue at least until the arrival of open-field vegetables.
