Which Ukrainians May Lose Their Utility Subsidy

Some citizens of Ukraine who receive state support for paying housing and utility services risk losing their right to receive a subsidy.
This is reported by AgroReview
“If a citizen changes their place of residence, acquires real estate, a vehicle, a land plot, or currency worth more than 50,000 hryvnias and does not inform the Pension Fund of Ukraine within a month, or if they have more than 100,000 hryvnias in their deposit accounts, the subsidy may be terminated”.
Main Grounds for Termination of Payments
The Pension Fund of Ukraine explains that the most common reasons for losing a subsidy are:
- change of residence of the subsidy recipient;
- acquisition of property (apartment, house, vehicle, land plot) or currency worth more than 50,000 hryvnias without notifying the Pension Fund within a month;
- having more than 100,000 hryvnias in bank deposit accounts;
- providing false information about the composition of the household, family members, or their financial status;
- death of the applicant.
Procedure for Applying for a Subsidy
Applications for state assistance to pay for utility services can be submitted either in person or remotely. Ukrainians can contact any service center of the Pension Fund or use the electronic services web portal of the Pension Fund of Ukraine.
Subsidies are assigned separately for the heating and non-heating seasons. In many cases, they are automatically extended based on the information available to the Pension Fund of Ukraine.
