The first KFC restaurant in Ukraine, offering an exclusively vegetarian menu, has opened in the Blockbuster Mall shopping and entertainment center in Kyiv. The main feature of the new establishment is the complete absence of meat in all dishes.

Menu Based on Mycoprotein and Plant-Based Format

According to KFC’s press service, the main ingredient of the new menu is mycoprotein—a protein product made from a natural fungus. This component contains a significant amount of protein and fiber, is cholesterol-free, and has a lower carbon footprint compared to traditional meat.

The dishes also use dairy products and eggs, which is why the establishment is positioned as vegetarian rather than vegan. Among the menu items, visitors can enjoy veggie strips, a veggie burger, a veggie Twister, a rice box, and a salad with veggie strips. Special “green” packaging is used for serving, highlighting the restaurant’s plant-based concept.

Updated Interior and New Brand Approach

With the change in the menu, the interior of the establishment has also been updated: instead of the traditional red and white colors, the new KFC features dominant green shades and plant-themed decor elements.

“100% taste. 0% chicken.”

The launch of the vegetarian format, as emphasized by the company, is a response to current dietary trends and the growing demand among consumers seeking alternatives to meat. Brand representatives stress that this is not a temporary marketing campaign, but a new strategic direction for the development of the chain.
