First Ukrainian Agro Hub in Ghana

As part of President Volodymyr Zelensky’s initiative Food from Ukraine, the first Ukrainian agro hub has begun operations in the Republic of Ghana. The new Food Processing and Distribution Center was established through the collaboration of the Ukrainian agribusiness sector with the government of Ghana, resulting from agreements reached during the Food from Ukraine conference in November 2025.

“The agro hub was created by the Ukrainian agribusiness sector in collaboration with the government of Ghana as a result of agreements reached during the Food from Ukraine conference in November 2025. This is a new format of our presence in the world, where humanitarian support is combined with the development of partnerships and the local economy,” said the head of the government.

Synergy of Ukrainian and Local Products

The main feature of the agro hub is the combination of Ukrainian products with local production resources. Based at the center, food packages are being formed that include rice grown in Ghana and pasta made from Ukrainian flour at local enterprises. In the first phase of the initiative, 4,000 food packages were delivered to the most vulnerable segments of the population, including Ghanaian widows.

In the future, the development of local processing, packaging, and portioning of products directly in Ghana is planned, which will contribute to the creation of added value and support the local economy.

Ukraine views Ghana as a strategic partner for humanitarian support and the expansion of trade relations on the west coast of Africa. The Ukrainian side is ready to share its experience, technologies, and knowledge to enhance productivity, thereby strengthening global food security.
